In recent product studies evaluating the impact of shoulder sore treatments in sows, the Mendicin- and Healicin-treated wounds were the only products with decreased surface area over the first seven and full fourteen days. Within the first seven days, both products were statistically superior for wound size reduction compared to the industry-standard iodine and lidocaine treatment.1
The novel pharmaceutical solutions contain dye which increases the visibility of treatments for easier identification during management and audits. They also feature a coating effect that optimizes coverage. Healicin ABF includes a deterrent, as the spray is also used in finishing barns to address tail-biting cases.
